The Alumni Association of JNU (AAJ) is dedicated to strengthening the bond between Jawaharlal Nehru University and its alumni community. We strive to create meaningful opportunities for networking, professional development, mentorship, and social engagement while encouraging alumni participation in the University’s academic, cultural, and developmental activities.
The Alumni Association of JNU (AAJ) is the official alumni body dedicated to connecting, engaging, and empowering the global community of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) alumni. Established with the vision of fostering lifelong relationships between alumni and their alma mater, AAJ serves as a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration, mentorship, and community engagement.With members spread across India and around the world, AAJ represents a diverse network of distinguished professionals, academicians, researchers, civil servants, diplomats, entrepreneurs, artists, and leaders who continue to uphold the values of excellence, inclusivity, and social responsibility that define JNU.
AAJ works in close coordination with the JNU Alumni Affairs Office to strengthen alumni participation in the University’s academic, cultural, research, and developmental initiatives. By creating meaningful opportunities for engagement, the Association encourages alumni to contribute their knowledge, expertise, experience, and resources towards the continued growth of JNU and the success of its students.
The Alumni Association of JNU (AAJ) was founded on 15 September 2012 under its first Executive Council (EC), led by President Prof. R.D. Kumar and General Secretary Prof. Devendra Chaubey, serving until March 2015.

Legal Constitution
The Alumni Association of JNU (AAJ) of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) functions as the University's designated office for promoting and strengthening engagement with its alumni community. It operates in accordance with the Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations, and policies of Jawaharlal Nehru University, as amended from time to time, and under the administrative framework approved by the University.
